Literature Text

Behind this mask I suffer
As loneliness crushes my soul
Creating a crater that grows ever deeper
Becoming a pit of despair

I cry out for help but no one answers
And those who do are unable to help me
As I am dragged back in chains
To my prison of pain

How long must I suffer
Before my soul is lost forever
To the darkness that threatens
To swallow my soul

NO

I am a man of great gifts
A man of great potential
I will break the chains that bind me
And fight for my freedom
Even if the darkness swallows my soul
It is immortal and will never be extinguished

Like a mighty warrior I will fight
And the darkness will know pain
As I tear through its bowels
And claw my way out stronger than ever

I will face the demons of my despair
And grind them to dust
I will stand tall over my demons
And emerge victorious

And should I lose my way
I will be brought back into the light
By those I hold so dear

For the bonds we share
Shall give me strength
made this poem a long time ago, but only now thought to post it online. it is easily one of, if not the best work, i've ever made to date.
